Voters by a wide margin seek action against National Public Radio (NPR) after a whistleblower last month came forward and accused the station of liberal-biased news coverage, a poll shows.
Fully 44 percent of respondents to a DailyMail.com/TIPP survey said the broadcaster should lose its taxpayer cashflows over its political leaning.
Another 26 percent of more than 1,400 US adults said it should keep its government support; and 31 percent said they were not sure.

PBS is just as fake and slanted
It’s crazy and suicidal for Republican lawmakers to allow taxpayer funds for left-wing propagandists like NPR. Republican politicians should have defunded NPR and similar outlets a long time ago. If for nothing else, just for the sake of self preservation.
national public agit-prop...
When was the last time the majority opinion of Americans was agreed to by DC?
I just turned 60 and nothing has been done in 44 years.
These clowns are fake "conservatives" and have no intention of ever doing anything. Even symbolic.
"Government ownership or subsidy of broadcast band radio and television stations and networks in particular, the tax funding of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting must end."

She also gave two billion to take care of cats, which makes sense in a way.
Still my favorite Republican "plank" is "Smaller government".
I’ve been for this for at least three decades, and I was probably a couple behind the curve.
Every “conservative” Party in the West drags that stuff out at election time.
You just watch the UK Tories this fall. They will suddenly be the “Party of Freedom” once the campaign starts.
And Pierre Poilievre in Canada ? He will be Mr Personal Liberty, when he voted to expel Conservative MPs who opposed vaccine mandates.
They get around 1/4 of their funding fr the govt.
I’ll guess that in 1980 that number was three times higher.
Fr AI as I was curious-
During the 1970s and early 1980s, the majority of NPR’s funding came from the federal government. However, steps were taken during the Reagan administration in the 1980s to completely wean NPR from government support. Unfortunately, the 1983 funding crisis forced the network to make immediate changes1.
Here’s a more detailed breakdown of NPR’s funding during that time:
Federal Funding: NPR was almost entirely dependent upon funding from the federal government through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) until the early 1980s.
PBS has always been biased left. Only lately has it become painfully obvious and the charade of non-partianship negated.
LOL. They needed a “whistleblower” to say that NPR showed political bias to the Left??
Literally, every single NPR broadcast I’ve heard my entire adult life has shown such bias. How could anyone be blind to it? Not that I am not an avid, or even regular, NPR listener. However, it is sometimes the only radio station with news one can get in some areas.
It has also long been a Rorschach test for me. When I hear someone listening to NPR all the time, I know their number.
Money to NPR should have been stopped decades ago...
"Becoming"? When was it NOT a leftist propaganda machine?
American Pravda.
Give the Republicans both houses of Congress and the Presidency and they still couldn’t-wouldn’t do it.
don’t just pull funds, make NPR repay funds they received for decades of propaganda spewing.
