My brother was tripped on a bus in NYC, and the person that tripped him was called out by the driver, who pulled the bus over and called for transit police to meet the bus. the tripper just said the old white guy called me a Nword. End result, no action by the police who said if my brother wanted to press charges, he would be hauled in as well. My brother takes cabs now. And is counting down to retirement so he can get out of NY. No big deal, except that he’s the guy who his employers calls in to figure out problems, like how to get a chiller up on top of the Met Life building without a helicopter ( just after 911) or how to salvage the boiler room of a public school after hurricane Sandy, you know little problems.
When I was a kid in the 70s, growing up in the Boston area, the region was teeming with White punks, but said punks usually started trouble with other yoots. The idea of attacking an elderly person or a woman was beyond the pale, and anyone who did so would, “catch a beatin’.” Black criminals really are the predators that Biden called them back then.
