Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey faces his second, distinct bribery and corruption trial in seven years starting Monday. This new case is a complicated affair involving multiple gold bars, envelopes of cash, a Mercedes and a lot more that, prosecutors say, the powerful former chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and his new wife (they got married during the alleged bribery scheme) obtained in exchange for helping a halal meat monopoly, granting favors for people from Egypt and Qatar and trying to influence a New Jersey prosecution.

Pennsylvania Sen. Fetterman calls Menendez “a Senator from Egypt, not New Jersey”.
If Fetterman keeps on being sensible (for a Democrat, that is) he might find himself in a bit of trouble with the Senate’s good-old-boy network.
And yet George Santos is kicked out of office and pretty much no one is talking about, or cares about this decades known corrupt crook. Now, why is that? Anyone hear any Republican talking about indicted this guy? Anyone?
Trump and Menendez are blood brothers now, in a certain sense.
Both are simultaneously receiving the brutal and drawn-out “othering” treatment by the seemingly anonymous powers-that-be embedded within the opaque Brandon regime.
Whatever they’re accusing him of, Bob didn’t do it. HE DIDN’T DO IT, I TELL YA! Besides, the wifey is the guilty one. Heck, he isn’t even a RAT anymore. Please give him your vote in November.

Since his trial starts Monday it looks like he has been indicted.
I’d prefer efficiency in the matter by simply having my basement carpeted with gold bars. No point in getting greedy.

Under the Supreme Court’s McDonnell decision I doubt that Menendez is legally guilty of bribery. My guess is he is being prosecuted because shadow-president Obama doesn’t like him.
