I understand that impulse, but remember, the Deep State is so blackhearted, they would consider an assassination.... so the Veep really does matter.

Remember how much they hated Reagan? They had an ultimate Deep Stater, and former CIA boss, George HW Bush as his Veep.

And... what a coinky-dink! John Hinkley, the mentally-ill son of the Hinkley family (who were tight with GHW Bush and family) suddenly pops up and actually hits President Reagan with a .22 round!
