The South was making the North violate it’s Staes Rights by handing back fugitive slaves. The Slave Power was fine using the Fecetal Government for it’s purposes, as soon as it lost power, it threw a hiss fit. And the Confederate Government was far bigger, far more intrusive. Freeper LS is a very respected historian and he writes about this.

You can make that argument....but then don't complain when the Southern states exercise their states' rights to unilaterally secede.

oh and the Confederate government was not bigger than the federal government nor was it more intrusive. That's just a complete joke.
