Globally, agriculture is responsible for around 20 per cent of greenhouse gas emissions, and is the biggest driver of biodiversity loss. We all need to eat, but with climate change undermining our ability to produce food, is there a better way?

The writer is a loon. Stopped right there.

FDR - confiscated gold.. Burned crops to raise prices...

FDR imprisoned American citizens in camps during WWII..

Roosevelt called Mussolini “admirable” and professed that he was “deeply impressed by what he has accomplished.” The admiration was mutual..

The minute they start shutting down data mining centers, private aircraft and war funding to combat climate change, is the minute I will start believing in it.

They are building hundreds of MILLIONS of square feet of data centers all over the country which will be using thousands of terawatts of electricity each year.

3 cows (2100lbs of beef) create as much “green house gas” as a 1 hour flight on a private jet.

Wars are the greatest creator of greenhouse gasses (including our bombing of the nord stream pipeline) of all human activity.

Either:

1.) It’s not real
or
2.) It is real and to postpone the climate changing, the people in charge are anti-humans who choose to keep things that hurt humans while shutting down things that help humans.
or
3.) A combination of both

Eliminating blue collar workers would be a gross miscalculation on their part.
Who is going to manufacture their cars, washing machines. Now that I think a little further, those jobs are already being outsourced to China, Mexico.
We have to keep blue collar manufacturing jobs IN THIS COUNTRY. It’s imperative if we’re going to survive.
I was in the metal-working industry close to 50 years. Those are better, more stable, more VALUABLE jobs than ANYTHING any “ivy league” school could crank out. I got my hands dirty in oil, machine coolants and solvents and what-have-you and actually produced something, and had a sense of accomplishment. Those white collars’ “sense of accomplishment” is having control over the rest of us.
The most valuable white collars, to me, are the engineers who design things that we get to machine, grind, and assemble.
I forget about the coal miners who mine the ore necessary for us to have metal to use in cars.
And who do they think makes components for their precious wind turbines?
Do they think they show up out of thin air?

There’s that old joke about the different parts of the body arguing about which one is the most important. Well, the butthole, of course, without it, everything else shut down. It’s not the greatest analogy, lol, but I think it makes the point.

Why do we need farms, anyway? We can just get food from the store.

(Hope I don't need the /s)

“Immiseration”, a word even Buckley or Safire would have hesitated to use, lol.

As much as I dislike FDR, he did do some things that were better than just doling out money to poors for nothing. He created the Works Progress Administration that was responsible for building many public buildings throughout the country creating jobs, and he created the CCC Civilian Conservation Corps that had multiple works projects in agriculture, environment etc.

Try that today and the first thing that happens is the workers bitch about a “living wage.”

He took inspiration from what Hitler was doing in Germany.

IIRC, there are one or two WPA buildings on the Georgia Tech Campus. I’ve also seen some state parks works over in Alabama that were done by CCC.

I think the major difference here is that Hitler’s works were focused on building up facilities and capabilities that could easily transition to a war footing (e.g., ‘glider and aero clubs,’ youth programs, roads, etc.)

People will say the WEG "only researched it" - because, you know, the WEF really has our best interests at heart

Like The United Nations, The World Economic Forum (WEF) also awaits their Antichrist

You’re right — Buckley and Safire were more into Shakespeare-era words. “Immiseraation” comes along a good 300 years after Shakespeare.

My father, who worked for the WPA before being drafted to fight in WWII, called it "We Piddle Around".

But they had to at least show up to work, unlike today.
