You may be right, but as pride goeth before the fall, it may just be the case that not all of the illegals are progressive leftist Columbia University students who buy into all of the leftist nonsense.
Maybe, just maybe, they have miscalculated. Maybe the illegals ultimately will act in their own self interest as inividuals, and not as a collective. I believe that individual liberty, while codified into our documents, is not a unique aspiration of mankind, and is, in fact, the mechanism of the “melting pot.”
This, I believe to be the Achilles heel of the left. Yes, it may be very painful, and we may be casualties of the fight, but, I am more optimistic than not about how this battle resolves itself. At the very least, I believe the leaders will be consumed by the monster they create.
We may be martyred if we stand firm, but they will be condemmned and consumed.
IMHO, one must have an eternal perspective, or all of this is meaningless. That is what trips up the Soros-types. They try to extend their mortality, thereby demonstrating that they believe in mortality and not immortality.
I believe God created me for eternity, and though this life is fraught with trials, tribulations, and tears, there is more than just this life.
