NATO is starting to deploy combat troops to Ukraine. Soldiers from Poland, France, the UK, Finland and other NATO members are arriving in larger numbers.
Although Russia says there are over 3,100 mercenaries in Ukraine, these newly arriving troops are not mercenaries. They are in uniform, home country proclaimed via insignia. They mostly are concentrated in the western part of the country, although in some cases they are close to the actual fighting in the east.

Do you remember your brother’s infantry regiment?
Because when Putin started making moves on Crimea... Same way he did with Georgia, the Ukrainians should have just welcomed being a Soviet State again?
You guys are hilarious...
Yep. He was in Company C, 4th Battalion (Mechanized), 23rd Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. Did basic at Fort Dix. Got sent to Anchorage, Alaska after basic. They reactivated the 25th, and he was sent to Schofield Barracks in Hawaii for training before being shipped out to Vietnam.
Funny, neither George W. Bush or Obama did anything about that.
Not great examples there... Mr. “Misunderestimate” and the limp-wristed Half-rican?
Thank you. Reading the history.
I’m not a Reverend.
I took the screen name of Obama’s goofy Chicago pastor but now I am stuck with it.
“... and God has promised not to destroy where many righteous men are.”
That is not a Biblically faithful view:
Revelation 18:
4 Then I heard another voice from heaven say:
“‘Come out of her, my people,’
so that you will not share in her sins,
so that you will not receive any of her plagues;
5 for her sins are piled up to heaven,
and God has remembered her crimes.
6 Give back to her as she has given;
pay her back double for what she has done.
Pour her a double portion from her own cup.
7 Give her as much torment and grief
as the glory and luxury she gave herself.
In her heart she boasts,
‘I sit enthroned as queen.
I am not a widow;
I will never mourn.’
8 Therefore in one day her plagues will overtake her:
death, mourning and famine.
She will be consumed by fire,
for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.
Which is why Putin felt he could make his moves.
Its always a nonsense, false binary choice with you people.
Yes, the world is a different place now than it was in the 18th century and our place in the world is different. Would you have had us stay out of the war in Europe during WWII? Should we have fallen back into isolationism after the war and not oppose a Soviet takeover of Europe? I agree that we should not get involved with every conflict but an aggressive Russia is a threat to peace in Europe, which makes it our concern. Whether you like it or not, our peace and prosperity is dependent on a peaceful Europe. That is the whole point of NATO. And that has been the position of the vast majority of conservatives since WWII. Your isolationism, if not actual support for Russian aggression, is the outlier.
Some team you have there
Clinton -Yugoslavia
Obama/Hillary -Libya
Pedophile Joe Biden’s failed proxy war against Russia
What a team ! what a record !! democracy and Freedom ! Yeah, right.
Deep State Swamp of DC, exporter of death and misery
Good chunk goof NATO wasted time in Afghanistan for 20 years ,, ah, but the money was made !🤔😉
Washington was 100% correct, steer well clear of the EuroWankers and their squabbles.
Nope, NeoCucks sell our nation out to line the pockets of filthy foreigners, Scum traitors, yes sir, Washington would have given you the rope.
Because when Putin started making moves on Crimea... Same way he did with Georgia, the Ukrainians should have just welcomed being a Soviet State again?
Hell no! The whole nation should have committed seppuku and died an honorable death. Or perhaps a great victory by emulating Masada. Better to be dead than red.
But they had an absolute right to state their intent to join NATO and bring military bases to the border of Russia. It's not like the United States has the Monroe Doctrine prohibiting any European nation from establishing any military base in North, Central, or South America.
Tell that to Russia. Somehow I don’t think they’ll see it that way.
Invoking Article 5 requires the consent of all the members. It has happened once in history, right after 9/11. Russia's diplomatic response has been to specific nations, not to NATO.

Collective defence and Article 5
Last updated: 04 Jul. 2023 11:47
[excerpts]
Invocation of Article 5The 9/11 terrorist attacks
The United States was the object of brutal terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001. The Alliance's 1999 Strategic Concept had already identified terrorism as one of the risks affecting NATO’s security. The Alliance’s response to 9/11, however, saw NATO engage actively in the fight against terrorism, launch its first operations outside the Euro-Atlantic area and begin a far-reaching transformation of its capabilities. Moreover, it led NATO to invoke Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty for the very first time in its history.

Enhanced collective defence measures
Although NATO Allies have only invoked Article 5 once, they have coordinated collective defence measures on several occasions.
On the request of Türkiye, on three occasions, NATO has put collective defence measures in place:
- in 1991 with the deployment of Patriot missiles during the Gulf War,
- in 2003 with the agreement on a package of defensive measures and conduct of Operation Display Deterrence during the crisis in Iraq, and
- in 2012 in response to the situation in Syria with the deployment of Patriot missiles.
Yes, but even Wiki avows that there was massive voting fraud, as well as intimidation of voters. Even in the last parliamentary election in March 1933, where intimidation of voters was massively practiced, the Nazis could get no more than 44 per cent of the vote.
