Chicago, like so many of our major cities, is out of control. Homelessness, smash-and-grab robberies, carjackings, gangs effectively taking over parts of the city - Chicago is in free fall. On Sunday, another incident in Chicago's meltdown was revealed when the Chicago Police Department canceled the city's Cinco de Mayo parade "out of an abundance of caution," due to gang violence and large-scale fighting in the area of the parade.
Families in Democrat-run Chicago hoping to enjoy a Cinco de Mayo parade will have to wait until next year – after the city canceled the festivities due to "gang violence."
The Chicago Police Department (CPD) announced Sunday that the Cinco de Mayo Parade was canceled "out of an abundance of caution… to protect the safety of all in attendance, including families and children."
Families were forced to pack up and head home after reports of large-scale fights in the area.
"This decision was made in agreement between CPD’s 10th District, elected officials, and parade organizers, following gang violence in the area," CPD said in a statement.
This is the really alarming bit, that the story - or the Chicago PD - almost seems to downplay:
The department said it arrested multiple people on unspecified gun charges.
Chicago is a mess. The city has suffered from years, nay, decades of incompetent government, brought about mostly by the citizenry voting out one incompetent city official only to vote in an even less competent city official. What's worse is that Cook County and Chicago, as is the case in many blue states, essentially control the rest of the state politically--meaning that all of Illinois suffers under these incompetent politicians.
As of this writing, there have been four people killed and 23 wounded by gunfire in Chicago this weekend alone, ranging in age from 17 to 49. This is a spring weekend in the Windy City for you, folks. At the moment the numbers above were noted, the list was still being updated. It's likely that by midnight on Sunday, the number will have gone up.
The Chicago Police is doing the best it can with what it is allowed to work with, and canceling the parade was probably the right call. But it's a sad pass we've come to when the town that has been referred to as America's Second City is so out of control, that the police can't guarantee the safety of the general public while they attend a parade.
Government, at every level, has two primary purposes: To protect the citizens' liberty and to protect the citizens' property. In this Chicago has failed, and continues to fail. It's time the voters in the Windy City hire a better class of public servant.
Why would the US even want a Cinco de Mayo celebration as it has no US connections.
And, of course, Cinco de Cuatro (as Obama called it) has absolutely no connection to the hoards from Central America.
Chicago joined the ongoing race war between Mexicans and blacks when Mayor Groot ordered BLM to attack Mexican businesses and neighborhoods in the spring of 2020.
The noodle-arm BLM (aka as Obama’s army) got their butts kicked by the Mexicans who set up barricades and organized armed patrols to take out BLM. The BLM soy boys have been cowering in their ghetto ratholes since.
Of course this complete defeat of Obama’s so-called “army” was never reported by the fascist media. The deep state doesn’t want their useful idiots to know they can get burnt fingers when touching a hot stove. They also don’t want people to know that their noodle-arm agitators will cry and run away when confronted.

The thugs and crooks of all races, who control Chicago, will
somehow force those not living in Chicago to pay for these costs.
Maybe it really IS time for Chicago to get on the Trump train and clean up the wreck their city has become.
Cinco de Mayo isn’t even celebrated in Mexico, it’s a made up holiday by the alcohol industry.
Criminal-catching is their prime function, and if the career criminals remain in prison then the crime rate will decrease.

I’m guessing the Polish people fight in their homeland when it’s warranted, not leave their homeland to crumble while trto destroy another country too.
Cinco de Mayo is celebrated in one one city in Mexico. The City of Puebla, where the 1863 battle took place. Its a local thing. But, beer makers marketing to Mexicans in the USA used it to sell beer—now Anglos are in on the act. Mexico beats France in one battle—and lose the war. In time, and with the help of Lincoln and Grant, Mexico kicked out the French and kill the tin pot emperor France and Mexican Conservatives saddled Mexico with. A good holiday even if sort of made up.

Unfortunately not. I’m not Polish. The pierogis I get are made by local Polish church ladies, then are sold at food booths at festivals.
