Yes, the J&J was mRNA. It just added a step to get to the mRNA part. It used an adenovirus to insert some spike protein encoded DNA into the cell nucleus. The cell then made mRNA from the DNA, and from the mRNA it made the actual spike proteins. Just like the other vaccines it spoofed the cell into building spike proteins from altered mRNA. It became a common myth that the J&J was a “traditional” vaccine, but if anything it was actually *less* traditional than the others. I read recently that J&J had quit producing their vaccine due to a higher incidence of side effects. With all of that said, it’s not really true to say it altered your DNA.
