You haven't said what the problem is that you are having a problem with. I have one question...Did our ancestors contact a vet to put down a violent dog or a rabid, or sick animal in their midst? Did the young Travis Coates call the vet when his dog Old Yeller contracted rabies? Obviously Fred Gipson who wrote the book, nor Walt Disney had a problem with Travis putting his own dog down. I don't recall any blowback about that when the film came out. It was a sad, but necessary action. When did it become a crime for an owner to put down his own animal that had a violent behavior problem? Was it when the left decided they wanted to take that right away from American citizens, as a means to denigrate firearms? Back in the early 40's, my mother told me they had to have their dog shot because he had bit my sister, who was only a baby at the time. Nobody batted an eyelash as it was perfectly acceptable behavior at the time. People couldn't afford vets back then. When did it all change, and why?
