The Truth About The Mass Deportation Program, Operation Wetback
American Thinker ^ | 05/05/24 | Ian Smith

Posted on 05/05/2024 8:32:41 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Seventy years ago in 1954, immigration authorities created a mass deportation program in the face of out-of-control intrusions at our southern border. Then, like now, the gravity of the problem called for a dramatic policy response.

Unlike now, the federal government rapidly responded, creating a system of roaming “deportation parties” concentrated on border-area factories and farms, netting tens of thousands of illegals in its first few days. The model, which would establish Border Patrol and ICE as we know them today, would later be dubbed, “Operation Wetback.”

Intensely reviled by the globalist Left even to this day, the program is recurringly attacked in mainstream outlets and scholarly journals as yet another blot on America’s trail-of-tears history.

As something of an immigration scholar myself, one of the better examples of academic treatment I’ve come across is a 2006 paper from UCLA African-American Studies professor, Kelly Lytle Hernández. As she shows, Operation Wetback offers plenty of guidance on how to deal with the current border invasion, especially in reclaiming deportations and border control as essential to both receiving and source countries alike.

No doubt surprisingly to some, Prof. Hernández writes in the piece that “cross-border research [into the program] transforms the typically nation-bound and time-bound narrative of Operation Wetback into an unexpected story of evolving binational efforts at migration control” -- that is, “binational” efforts between the U.S. and Mexico such as “collaborative deportations, coordinated raids, and shared surveillance.”

Few would know or at least admit that Operation Wetback was indeed a “binational effort” and essentially co-created by the Mexican government; such is the degree of disinformation and slanted revisionism of the program.

The big difference is back then, Dwight Eisenhower was the President who had the WILL to implement the operation. Today, we have a mentally feeble man named Joe Biden.

I’ll read the article later. They won’t get away with using the term wetback but the rats will be sure to bring it up. And the Latinos who support deportation will be like the Jews who vote democrat. Aliens are not allowed either-what we’re up against.

The Federal Government should post a $10. bounty payable to an American citizen for each illegal located and info turned into the nearest law enforcement or illegal border crosser rounding-up organization. I would be a rich man.

And we didn't have the cheap labor express as we do now.

In my neck of the woods you have to really look to find a white guy doing manual labor like yard work, painting, etc.

Right. There's a need for labor. Our birth rates are too low.

Withhold all federal funds for any sanctuary city. Massive fines for any company or person who hires illegal aliens. Criminal charges for any and all NGOs funding the illegal invasion. Any asylum applications must be filed in the first safe nation they reach. Not one penny of tax dollars in any way for any asylum seeker or illegal alien. End birthright citizenship. End chain migration.

There are so many ways that won’t cost a penny.

Just my opinion, but a couple of things:

1) I doubt it would be ‘binational’ as the current government in Mexico is corrupt and likely under the influence of the drug cartels. It’s almost a certainty that drugs are coming across the border with the invasion. No way the cartels want to have that delivery ‘pipeline’ shut off.

2) On our side, we’d need a complete change of whoever is in charge of our government. I strongly suspect that he people in charge right now have some kind of skin in the game, whether it’s actual money, or the desire for the invaders to be given the opportunity to vote and keep the party in power for a long time, if not forever.
We would need America-loving Patriots in charge who would be willing to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to stem the tide and send the invaders back wherever they came from.

To me, the only way this could be accomplished is if we had a paradigm shift in our country and we started thinking and acting a WHOLE LOT different than what we have now.

"The big difference is back then, Dwight Eisenhower was the President who had the WILL to implement the operation. Today, we have a mentally feeble man named Joe Biden."

For there to be a way, there first have to be a will to do so. Even when Trump ascends back to the presidency, he will be blocked from mass deportations at every turn. The Deep State, aided and abetted by the Republican Party will see to it.

That’s because government policies such as feminism, taxation, and open borders disincentivizes stock legacy Americans from having children.

All true. However, nations like Japan and South Korea have lower birth rates than the U.S. They have no immigration and their societies remain traditionalist.

Gundog—

Do you have a separate account for when you’ve been drinking? I imagine that there is Baptist back there somewhere, but from the age of the account and the post pattern (three articles from many years ago and two recent spates of commenting) you drink less than I imagine if my theory is accurate.

If wetgundog is someone else, have the two of you ever crossed trails?

RE: That term is now derogatory.

Two things.

1. We can change the name of the operation to OPERATION GO HOME.

2. Regardless of how you change the name, anything the left dislikes will be deemed derogatory so you can never win if you play their word games. It won’t be long before “GO HOME” becomes a racist term.

I have an idea that just might work...

Consider a change in currency (it's dying, and 90% dead already), where the $35T debt to bankers goes 'poof!', and pave the way for Americans to convert their fiat for PM-backed new currency, as the BRICS nations are doing.

Illegal aliens (criminalians) will also convert their US Dollars, however the catch is, they must do so by going to a bank in their home country. They will self-deport to do so, rather than remain destitute, since all forms of welfare are limited to worthless fiat.

THE NEW US DOLLAR

You wouldn’t even need to round them up. Just cut out ALL government aid and make it a criminal felony for a business to employ them. Quite simple actually.
