The Antisemitism Awareness Act directs the Department of Education to use the definition promulgated by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance when enforcing federal anti-discrimination laws.
"Antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews," the definition says.
It goes on to define examples of antisemitism, and some of the heated rhetoric heard on college campuses lately would be included.
“It goes on to define examples of antisemitism”
One of the examples given was that Jews killed Jesus Christ. This was labeled an antisemitic trope that was defined as hate speech. So if this bill passes get ready to remove the 21 passages in the New Testament that allude to this. But this bill goes much further than that. It pretty much criminalizes any criticism of Israel. Although I bet the Christian Zionists on here would probably like that last part.
Thank you, but what violates the first amendment?
“ The Antisemitism Awareness Act directs the Department of Education to use the definition promulgated by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance when enforcing federal anti-discrimination laws.”
It would seem the relevant law are laws that exist already - these so-called “anti-discrimination laws.”
