If the U.S. Congress ends up getting its way, even burning an Israeli flag one has purchased, and legimately owns, will be a federal crime—a “hate” crime—and lead to arrest, prosecution, conviction, and jail time.

Assaulting someone to steal and burn their property is a crime. Assaulting someone to silence them and intimidate others is also a crime.
