I would more likely believe ukr security forces executing their own exhausted men for trying to surrender. The russkies should be treating prisoners extremely well in order to encourage more of them to cease fighting for their corrupt oligarchs. Give them water, cigarettes, food and allow them a phone call home. My dad told a story from ww2; germans tried to surrender, GI who hated germans opened fire, surviving germans ran back to their bunkers and fought to the death, taking a few more americans with them.
