They have vets in he dakotas. Could’ve taken the pup to the vet to be put down

What would the purpose of such action be? All it shows it the person who does it is not willing to face reality, or take responsibility for their own decisions.

If farmers took all animals they own, which need to be put down, they would soon be out of business.

Such actions are unnecessary and irresponsible. They promote the insidious idea that all actions in life must be delegated to "experts" who are approved of by the government. It is a very bad idea.

Shooting a dog is one of the most humane ways to put it down.

A friend of mine owns 3,000 sheep. He told me he has sheep die just about daily...sometimes from loose dogs disemboweling them! So no, he doesn’t worry about killing an animal. Even a “puppy”.
