More fascism.
1” wood blinds are a thing of the past.
Starting the beginning of this month they are no longer being made. The reason is the cords that are used to raise and lower the blind. The ones that have been existence for probably a century now. The fear is children hanging themselves from the cord.
The headrail for the 1-in blinds is not wide enough to hold the contraption that helps the blinds be raised up and down from the bottom.
I would guess that Generations ago people were actually watching their children. (And perhaps noticed if they were depressed.) It’s probably more The Accidental issues of getting the cords around their necks. We’ve always had blinds, never happened once with my child. or even cats that played with the cords.
We have Anderson Windows so they have a nice wood frame. The only type of blinds that looks good in them were the 1-in slats that fit inside the window. Anything else mounted outside would cover up the window. I wanted to get a different color for one of the windows, that’s how I figured out there was a problem when there wasn’t anyone inch wood blinds anywhere.
I kinda like the cordless...only because it’s easier...not “for the children”.
