Found this at my favoritethrift shop on the way home today. It's a plastic bag holder. 50 cents!

Is that a good or bad place? I keep reading different things about it, on free republic. Seems opinions are split.

Re Winred, there have been serious accusations on how they’re mis-using the money they collect. Maybe others on the forum have more detailed info.

Democrats Celebrate Trump Being Convicted Of Whatever It Was He Did | Babylon Bee

https://babylonbee.com/news/democrats-celebrate-trump-being-convicted-of-whatever-it-was-he-did

U.S. — Following the reading of the guilty verdict in the first criminal trial of a former president, Democrats across the country celebrated Donald Trump being convicted of whatever it was he did.

Though none of the Democrats who commented publicly on the verdict were able to identify what crime Trump allegedly committed, they were unanimously overjoyed that there was a violation of some type for some thing that was done at some point.

“It’s time for Trump to answer for that one thing from that one time,” said former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. “No one should ever do that thing that he did, back at that place with whoever. The justice system worked flawlessly to hunt Trump down like the criminal he is and hold him accountable for…whatever.”

Prominent Democrats in Hollywood also voiced their elation over Trump finally being brought to justice for something they couldn’t quite put their finger on. “We don’t tolerate this stuff in America,” said actor Robert DeNiro. “The stuff he has done… I’m not even going to talk about it. The fact that he thought he could just do…stuff…and get away with it shows what type of scumbag he is. What a disgrace. I don’t know what he did. I don’t want to know what he did. But, whatever it is, he’s guilty.”

At publishing time, celebrities including Rob Reiner, Kathy Griffin, and Chelsea Handler had begun filming a public service announcement warning the American public about the dangers of people like Donald Trump doing…something.

We always said that in Canada if things were said at the same time.

Well, we were close.

I truly hope that the man is not sent to jail. That would be unbearable. I would not put it past this judge.

I am afraid he will coz that is specifically one of their goals, and they have the 'system' working for them. I hope I am wrong.

I hate it when electric goes out in the summer! Were your temperatures low enough that it wasn’t too bad?

Amazingly, it only got in the low 80's and it was bearable. (I napped alot not knowing what else to do with myself lol)

I have decided that getting Trump into jail is actually the plan. They need to separate him from his security detail. Think Epstein. I don’t put anything past these evil criminals.

Exactly. I can't believe how far we have fallen so fast. Well, it really hasn't been 'fast', been slowly but surely going downhill for over 20+ years. I feel we have been at war for over that long, just our side didn't realize it. :(

From Holey to Holy

Bible in a Year :

He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace.

2 Timothy 1:9

As a child, my daughter loved playing with her Swiss cheese at lunch. She’d place the pastel yellow square on her face like a mask, saying, “Look, Mom,” her sparkly green eyes peeking out from two holes in the cheese. As a young mom, that Swiss-cheese mask summed up my feelings about my efforts—genuinely offered, full of love, but so very imperfect. Holey, not holy.

Oh, how we long to live a holy life—a life set apart for God and characterized by being like Jesus. But day after day, holiness seems out of reach. In its place, our “holeyness” remains.

In 2 Timothy 1:6-7, Paul writes to his protégé Timothy, urging him to live up to his holy calling. The apostle then clarified that “[God] has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace” (v. 9). This life is possible not because of our character, but because of God’s grace. Paul continues, “This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time” (v. 9). Can we accept God’s grace and live from the platform of power it provides?

Whether in parenting, marriage, work, or loving our neighbor, God calls us to a holy life—made possible not because of our efforts to be perfect but because of His grace.

Reflect & Pray

How do you view personal holiness? In what ways will you ask God to remind you of His all-surpassing grace that brings about His holiness in your life?

Dear God, please help me to lean into Your grace and not my efforts to live a holy life.

For further study, read Why Would Anyone Want to Be Holy?
