The Judge Drops the Hammer on Trump for Breaking Gag Order

Before testimony resumed in the Hush Trump trial in New York City, the judge ruled on the first bunch of prosecutor-driven complaints about how the former president and current 2024 presidential candidate broke his gag order. The judge found that Donald Trump had indeed broken his gag order and then fined him the maximum amount per violation.

Prosecutors filed complaints in three different groupings for a total of 14 charges of breaking what is widely believed by constitutional lawyers to be illegal and unconstitutional gagging of a defendant. This first tranche was from Trump's TruthSocial accounts. See the list of his contretemps below.

In today's ruling, Trump was found in contempt for nine statements he made on his social media site for a total of a $9,000 fine.

Judge Juan Merchan told Trump that if he kept doing it he'd consider locking him up, or as the Joe Biden donor put it in his order:

Defendant is hereby warned that the Court will not tolerate willful violations of its lawful orders and that if necessary and appropriate under the circumstances, it will impose an incarceratory punishment.

Trump should refuse to pay and demand to be jailed...along with his SS detail...

Actually he should have refused to pay the first $450mm + fine.
Let the a’hole DA seize his property and jail him.

Then we will see who blinks first.....

The problem is that Trump is dealing with very stupid people who tend to be unpredictable, and unpredictability, like insanity, can be dangerous.

The only exceptions to the doctrine are where “a Judge does not act like a Judge,” or where “a Judge, though acting under color of judicial authority, lacks any jurisdiction supporting judicial authority for the action taken.”

When witnesses have unfettered commentary and the defendant is gagged from defending himself. I could argue during over due process rights which is a slam dunk.

“When witnesses have unfettered commentary and the defendant is gagged from defending himself.”

In the courtroom witnesses do not have unfettered commentary and the defendant is not gagged from defending himself.
