A defense for Trump would be that his 2nd impeachment failed on the point of insurrection on January 6th.

But the Congress in Section 5 of the 14th has the power to enforce through legislation, the other articles of the 14th.

They could simply legislate that Trump participated in an insurrection or rebellion per Section 3.

A bad, untested legal move perhaps, but when has poorly based lawfare ever stopped the Dems?

Considering the Deep State would be calling in markers on both sides of the aisle in order to dump Trump, and the media cheerleading the effort, it is not out of the realm of possibility.

The Deep State is becoming increasingly desperate, and they know justice is coming if Trump becomes President again.
They will try anything at this point to stop him.
