A bullet would have ended much quicker and cost a lot less. No trial no prison time.
Around my neck of the woods I probably see at least 2-3 people open carrying in the local Kroger store every time I go in. Probably that many more being more discreet. That dude would have been taking a dirt nap before the cops could get out of the doughnut shop.
