It depends upon what the meaning of the word “is” is.

I think Ross Perot’s getting even with GHWB and taking 17% of the vote put Clinton in the WH. Stolen? Uh, as bad as Billy Boy Clinton is/was with his wandering member, that may have had some impact if it, pardon the expression, was exposed, but not as bad as Perot’s impact. IMHO.

Read my lips. That, along with Ross Perot getting 19% of the popular vote.

I think there were many women who voted for Clinton over Perot and Dole.

Bush I had the highest approval rating - past or present - of any US president.
A year later - he lost reelection.
Go figure.

He would have lost but the vote was split allowing him to walk away with a otherwise unimpressive win.

There’s plenty of blame to be placed upon the George Herbert Walker Bush reelection campaign.
It was one of the laziest campaigns of all time. Bush behaved as if he was entitled to a second term and it was beneath his aristocratic dignity to conduct a campaign at all. He did not hit the trail until it was abundantly clear that he was behind in the polls.
Worst candidate since Herbert C. Hoover in 1932. Bush 41 lost a winnable contest.

The indictment of Casper Weinberger three days before the election, on a charge that was quietly dropped after Clinton won. Lawfare by Democrats is not new. It’s getting more refined.
