I thought Florida had the savior Ron De Santis to save them?
Don’t ask me...
I’ve worked in education since 2017. The kids at the day-treatment program I had were the dregs of the school system, so they don’t really count.
But when I got into Gen Ed in a good school system — pre-covid students were pretty smart. Post covid students were a mixed bag. But the morons at the Title 1 school where I worked were absolutely wretched, entitled sh*theads. At the more affluent schools, you get mixed results — some kids care, some kids don’t — but at least their behavior is better.
I prefer teaching ESE kids — they’re easier to manage, better to be around, and despite whatever issues they may have, I’d rather deal with them than the entitled suburbanites convinced they’re all going to be internet influencers because they’re mommies tell them they’re special.
how much you want to bet that the school system was scared of the lawsuit that would happen if they did intervein.
