yeah Dreeben (sp?) seems to think you can trust prosecutors to be on the up and up - and the DOJ in general. laughable in today’s environment of dual system of justice.
If prosecutors are assumed to be so trustworthy, why do we bother with trials?
Alito asked Dreeben whether there are cases where a grand jury didn’t charge, even when the prosecutor pushed.
Dreeben says, “Yes, there are such cases.”
Alito says, “Well there are eclipses, too.” Meaning earth-shatteringly scarce.
I detect a strong element of contempt and derision in the author’s use of the term “old saw”. It’s probably one of Breitbart’s never trumper’s or rat trolls.
