LOL...you cannot legally “promote or prevent election.”

What, exactly, do political campaigns do? You’d have to arrest everybody who has ever run for office.

You stopped reading too soon.

"Any two or more persons who conspire to promote or prevent the election of any person to a public office by unlawful means"...

You can promote or try to prevent an election. You just can't use break the law in the process.

So am I breaking the law by simply voting for a candidate. I am attempting to promote one candidate and not support the others.
