Former President Donald Trump offered words of praise for House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., saying he is "trying very hard" and is "a very good person."

His comments came Monday evening during an interview with Real America's Voice radio host John Fredericks.

"Look, we have a majority of one [in the House]," Trump said. "It's not like he can go and do whatever he wants. I think he's a very good person. I think he's a very good man. I think he's trying very hard. And, again, we have to have a very big election" to increase the Republican majority in the House.

"We have to elect some good senators, get rid of some of the ones we have right now like [Mitt] Romney and others. We have to have a big day and win the presidency."

SMH, another piss poor comment by Trump, when is he going to learn to stop standing by losers? Can’t wait to see what loser he picks for VP.

This is the key quote from Trump. “And, again, we have to have a very big election” to increase the Republican majority in the House”

Trump is saying wait. That’s my take.

Jeez sir...whatcha thinking?

Sadly, Trump's hiring choices are mostly duds.

That's been the pattern since he took office.

Does anybody really expect that to change??

Agreed, see my post #61. I was hoping he would have it all figured out by now based on his past experience, SMH, but, alas, he does not.

Just to be clear, the headline - I want Mike Johnson. Don’t vacate - is not a Trump quote. It’s a misleading headline. It’s true that Trump has not backed Johnson’s ouster, but it’s also true that his reasons for not doing so are more nuanced than simply agreeing with Johnson 100%, on every decision he’s made.

Trump wants the support of the Republican establishment and the trash that is the congressional Republicans are the epitome of liberal establishment. He supports their leftist speaker openly in they openly support him-mostly. Privately however, Trump will find these people are the scum of humanity and will sabotage his campaign. Trump recognizing the enemy from within is a major flaw in his charachter.

The congressional Republicans are just as big a threat to the country as the Democrats in congress, neither care about the country and hate the people.

both are true: Mike Johnson IS evil and NOW is not the time to oust him. His days are numbered though.

none of us that are conservative (are you?) should tolerate being sold out to the left ever, especially by a fake conservative like Johnson who has done everything the left loves in one fell swoop

I will ask though, WHY is Johnson campaigning on behalf of Tony Gonzales who just came out and called the conservative wing of our party scumbags? That is so in your face defiance of anything conservative if you ask me.

I stand with DJT and agree timing is not right to oust Johnson at this moment but he better be pushed out RIGHT AFTER THE ELECTION

sometimes Trump lets his personal loyalty get in the way of his judgement.

This WAS a “Mike Johnson is evil” site”!

Still is, for most thinking adults regardless of what Trump might want.

You can't just do nothing.

Actually, "nothing" is exactly all that they needed to kill FISA.

Same thing goes for giving our taxes to foreign dictators for that matter. Money bills are supposed to originate in the House. If they do nothing, money doesn't get spent, which I am all for. Frankly, America would be better off if the house were to adjourn until January

There won’t be anything done until Jan

What exactly do you think they are going to do FOR the American people? I'm sure they'll come up with new ways to screw us. They could all just take a hike for months and most people wouldn't even notice.

The best thing they can do is nothing.

To: Bob Wills is still the king

I wouldn’t know by experience about a resignation or retirement being cause for a temporary appointment of short-term predecessor.

I do know that House Rules & Procedures do exist, although Speaker Pelosi fraudulently replaced them with her own. which only confirms that they can be changed, without a vote of the full House, but on a whim— to guarantee a desired outcome.

She wrecked Trump and the country, consequently. I believe Republicans should be allowed to retain the seat of Speaker for the remainder of their term as the majority.

Mike refusing to resign risks him being voted out. That means a floor vote of the full House for a new Spkr.

Johnson is willfully risking that the Democrat minority leader becomes Speaker.

Keeping both the house and senate from passing ANY legislation is the best thing for this country. Continue with committee hearings, expose the Biden crime family, stopping agencies from usurping congressional prerogatives by instituting rules and treating them as laws, in other words NO MORE LEGISLATION.

Jeez sir...whatcha thinking?

Trump knows the Deep State machinations to turn the House Democrat without firing a shot. Trump knows two minutes after Congress is in Democrat hands, legislation will pass barring anyone who engaged in "insurrection" from the presidency.

The Supreme Court laid out that precise pathway when they ruled Colorado could not keep Trump off the ballot — but Congress could keep an "insurrectionist" out of the Oval Office legislatively (NO CONVICTION REQUIRED).

Which is exactly what a Democrat Congress would do.

Trump is navigating shark-infested waters between now and November. Johnson is awful, but Trump can't allow a move on Johnson's speakership right now.
