I was speaking of the Jewish contribution to the development of the American Left.

Oddly enough, much of that contribution was due to the American Jewish desire to foster human rights and help others.

It goes back to pre-war Europe, where the Jews were either Zionists, or Socialist Bundists.

We got mostly the Socialist Bundists.
