The military is on the decline...no doubt about it. This will create a situation of desperation, probably sooner rather than later, since the recruitment numbers are down, and anyone with 12-15+ years of service probably still has some degree of commonsense. Although those individuals likely have to walk a fine line in order to make it to retirement.
My youngest son is a junior, and when my wife and I went with him to the career night, there was the typical military recruiters positioned side-by-side with their table. When the Army recruiter came up, I politely interjected and said, “No Thanks.” I then politely said that my younger brother would likely be the last person in our family to serve given the nonsense going on, if I had anything to do with it. The recruiter didn’t even put up an argument. Just kind of nodded and walked back to his fellow recruiters.
I used to be a big supporter of military service and directed lots of kids to the various technical fields. But that died under Obama, and I’m pretty sure that I am not the only one. Us veterans were the military’s biggest recruiters, but no more.
Hey, what about S&M types who want to be called 'Master" or "Slave"? Or the new 'dog kink' where people who self-identify as dogs want to be called 'Here Boy". Or how about we peacefully divide the country and the craziers can do whatever the hell they want to do because we're NOT there to stop them.
