I believe I’ve said this here before, but I think soon after being elected for a seat or appointed to a position, the person is drugged and photographed with incriminating pictures. It could happen as early as their congratulation reception.
Once several years ago, I had an opportunity to send a message (that old six degrees of separation thing) to someone who had recently been appointed/election to a position and i sent word to them not to accept a drink from anyone at their reception. I advised to bring their own bottle of water and drink nothing else (just in case) at all government sponsored events. I was assured the message got to that person although the messenger was amused at my advice. So far that person has remained a conservative and has no problem speaking out.
