I grew up in the 1950s and did not have my first fast food hamburger until I was 14. We did not go out to eat unless we were traveling and then it was diners along the highway.

“Fast food” became a thing because it was cheap, fast and convenient. Today it is none of those things. They are pricing themselves out of business for the average family.

People will adjust (I am not able to predict how, but they will). The smart ones will go back to home cooking.

Those bass turds here in Texas are giving abandon parking lots food mall names and somebody is renting out spaces to the hundreds of food trucks. It’s getting difficult to beat those bass turds to Sam’s, Walmart and H-E-B before they buy everything up. You should have seen the Walmart closest to me when people started coming in for the eclipse. Bread, Brauts, Hot Dogs, Hamburgers and all Messican type foods were cleaned out. Supply and demand in America is about to go to hell. I’ve never seen the entire bread aisle cleaned off before. Wow.

Just wait until we lose the White House, the house, and the Senate. Then you’ll see this happening nationwide. The Democrats will Institute immediately card check make it possible for every restaurant to be organized by a union. This will also affect every type of service business. This country is going to be lost in the great abyss if we can’t take our political system

It’s Kali, they deserve what they get.

Oh, don’t worry, the rest of the country will get theirs too. The feds want to raise the national minimum wage to $17.

Have a small bottle of ketchup in the car for your fries and onion rings.

With a cast iron pan at home, you could get a pound of decent ground beef at the supermarket and make your own burgers at home. Five minute a side. Ten minutes total.

I'll never understand why people think getting hamburgers at some fast food joint is "convenient" when it is so much easier and less time consuming to make them at home.

A typical Chicken Burrito from a California Chipotle will now cost $10.25, while the average price of a Steak Burrito will set you back $12.

Pikers. It's already past that here, and there isn't a $20/hr min wage in HELLINOIS --- yet. I may eat out or stop at a "fast food" place once a month at this point. Cheaper and better quality of food cooking @ home.

And best part: not supporting some snot-noised a-hole who thinks flipping burgers is a career.

I ate at a Chipolte today here in FL and that's what it cost so I don't see the difference.

When you are a couple hours from home and lunch time was 2 hours ago you go wherever is the closest fast food joint. When we are home, we cook our burgers over a fire in our fire pit.

Business will shutdown, mass layoffs. Prices will skyrocket. You think rent and housing is expensive now then wait a few more years.

From June 1, 2026, to May 31, 2027, the minimum wage will increase to $22/hour, and, beginning June 1, 2027, the minimum wage shall be $25/hour.
