Republican hardliners are growing angry at House Speaker Mike Johnson’s complex plan to advance billions of dollars in foreign aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, as another GOP congressman indicated support for ousting Johnson from his speakership over his handling of the issue.
GOP Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky told Republican colleagues behind closed doors Tuesday morning that he’s going to cosponsor the motion to vacate Johnson from his position, according to GOP members in the room. A source added that Massie warned the speaker he should resign.
The comments highlight a significant escalation of the far right’s threat to Johnson’s leadership that have dogged the Louisiana Republican since Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia filed a resolution to vacate the chair last month.

DEAD MEAT HANGING.
We must fund Ukraine
while america circles down the drain!
Still nothing to stop illegal immigration, the number one domestic issue.
They rather have a Democrat for Speaker. Insane.
> aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan
Aid our own F’ing border.
This Republican conference is the most embarrassing, dysfunctional ever.
It’d be better to turn the Congress over to the Democrats so as to position Republican congressmen as insurgents come November!
Dems smell blood
I have nothing wrong with individual defense aid bills. It gives each rep the ability to vote on an individual thing, and that is better than “omnibus” bills that want to lump all sorts of things together.
I think yes, aid to Ukraine and Israel should be individual bills, on their own. And a U.S. border bill should be on its own. Let everyone see how each rep stands on each individual issue.
However, on any Ukraine bill, I would like to see an amendment that calls for the cost of it to come out of the trillions in domestic spending that has already been handed to Biden. Biden already has the money, it just needs to be reallocated with no additional spending needed.
Massie is right to be moving in this direction. And he’s smarter this time to demand a resignation rather than just oust Johnson without a replacement ready.
I am mistrustful of Marjorie Taylor Greene though since she is still Kevin McCarthy’s puppet and she looks like a man. Having Massie on board makes the idea seem somewhat better.
All American citizens should be in DC protesting any foreign aid to any nation. Especially Israel. WE’RE DONE.
Traitor Johnson your envelope has arrived with instructions.
btt
They have a Democrat for speaker. They own Johnson. They even made him vote to break the tie on FISA to show the world he is under rat control.
it kind of tells you something that they won't even take a 'free' vote on the issue. It would just be posturing, because they know the senate won't even bring it up.
Traitor Johnson is completely owned by the deep state.
If we actually had a right wing, things would be a lot different.
I have been saying dont toss Johnson bc RINOS will vote with the communists to put Jefferies in speaker position but it’s despicable what Johnson is doing. At this point, screw it, burn it down. What is wrong with these people???????
Absolutely true. They had to telegraph exactly who owns who.
Backlash by these same moscow mules was not heard when the passed Biden’s trillion dollar acts.
“ Any speaker who puts a bill on the floor without a MAJORITY OF his caucus is...
DEAD MEAT HANGING.”

And since Johnson agreed to those terms he’d have no basis to complain. Hey, Johnson, I’ve got an idea… DO WHAT YOU SAID YOU’D DO!
At this point, the House having no Speaker and doing nothing is preferable to what it is doing. As Gideon J. Tucker wrote, “No man’s life, liberty or property are safe while the Legislature is in session.” (Often wrongfully attributed to Will Rodgers.)
