Major General Hossein Salami, Commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), on Sunday insisted he had received reports showing that part of the weapons fired by the force toward Israel had directly hit their targets, IRNA reported.
“Our information on all of the hits is not complete yet but on that part of the hits that we have accurate, documented, and field-related reports show that this operation has been carried out with a success that exceeded the expectation,” Salami said.

Much of what you wrote makes sense.
So doing nothing is the best choice because Iran threatens mystery weapons? How about crippling them so they can’t do it?
The Israelis should aim one of their nuc-capable Jericho missiles at the arch in Tehran where the Iranians stage their military parades. Replace the warhead with a block of concrete and let them know the next one may be the real thing if Iran keeps it up.
This war is no different than the Russia/Ukraine war when it comes to dispensing propaganda. The MSM has been yammering about how little damage was caused to dissuade Israel from retaliation, but are intentionally ignoring the fact that Iran has just demonstrated that they can hit even Israel’s most highly guarded military assets with impunity using their ballistic missiles.
It’s a tough choice and it looks like a wider war is unavoidable.

How do you know what his objective was? I’m serious. How do you know all that armament, mostly ineffective low grade armament was not launched for the sole purpose of depleting Israel’s (and US) missile defense systems? How many billion dollars did that little foray cost us? It cost Iran a few hundred thousand bucks, tops, and Biden already gifted them that much.
IOW, Iran can get a small % of missiles within a large mostly empty area (called an airbase) at which point the Israelis were still able to jam / confuse the guidance / targeting. If you can’t hit anything of significance (can include a coordinate of “nothing there” to demonstrate your proficiency, stated B4 the attack) you failed. Unless of course you launched a nuke at an empty spot and stated intent and coordinates beforehand, as obviously an all out attempt at interception would still HAVE to be made: A defense failure to keep the nuke from going off then would be just that. and, as the saying goes, quantity (in this case a nuke) has a quality all its own.
Quite a few of the sensors and radars are mobile, so “all mapped out” is rather an overstatement.
“10’s of thousands” of “advanced missiles” is also quite the overstatement. US Centcom’s estimate in 2022 was 3k, of ALL Iran’s ballistic missiles, and they have sent some to Russia. Probably production has at least equaled exports. Still, NOBODY’s arsenal consists mostly of the latest and greatest.
The real danger is a saturation attack, with Hezbollah involved with all the rockets and missiles they’ve got, as even just dumb luck will cause serious damages. Plus, in that scenario, the Iranians should be able to do better than dumb luck. Iran isn’t going to do make that sort of attack, though, unless they want to see their little cultural experiment end up in radioactive ruins.
Long range cruise and ballistic missiles, even Iran’s, are not THAT cheap.
The many aircraft shootdowns of drones are probably worth it just for the training. (Our pilots in the Red Sea have commented to such effect, tho’ if you get to 7 shot down by one pilot, as we did vs. the Houthis, maybe it’s time to have a different pilot have at it. ;-)...... )
Plus, it is pretty certain Israel WILL exact cost in return.

Well I guess we will soon find out how much of a threat Iran is. The Israeli cabinet has decided to retaliate but has given no timeline.
