“national debt = federal spending”

That one’s not true but he goes on to say,

“Federal spending in excess of tax revenue = debt.”

That one is true but I’d say “taking on debt.”

He says,

“we are being placed into debt against our will.”

In the final analysis not true because we elect our leaders.

But once we are deceived into allowing the borrowing, we are on the hook to pay it off, no getting out of that.

I haven’t checked lately. Is tax revenue only a small portion of federal spending?

Too many simply vote D/R or for some alternative and we get the last-second, not-read omnibus bills and the pols bleat "We were up against the deadline."

And then there's the people who don't vote at all/don't care, who just expect "their check."
