I hope they weren’t using $200K missiles to shoot down $50K drones. Seems cheap bullets would have served the same purpose. Those missiles have a "best if used by" date, which is further shortened by "airframe hours" (time spent mounted to an aircraft, subjected to buffeting and vibration). Bottom line, the things cost $$$$ to refurbish or replace every ten years or so (shorter interval if they see a lot of flight time), so the money gets spent either way.
