I knew two men whose wives did something like this. Both men tried to save the marriage and the women ended it. My guess is that a woman who does this is ready for divorce and is looking for a new branch to land on.

You missed a bit of Newt’s history. He divorced her as she was extremely ill and he was already having an affair.

Folks were curious (I was) as to his silence during the Clinton debacle. I recall telling my husband that Newt was dirty and doing something to cause him to be quiet. Sure enough the affair was exposed once the dEms had no further use for Newt’s silence.
