Affirmative sir. I was stationed at Laughlin at the time. We had Iranian student pilots in pilot training. USAF pulled them all out of pilot training, and shipped all their rears back to Iran.
I figured we would be fighting these fools some day, anyway. I was right.
I knew a USAF instructor pilot at Laughlin. He said the Iranians were the worst pilots he ever saw. He said he trained 3 Iranian student pilots. He said all 3 were later killed in aircraft accidents they couldn’t fly airplanes to save their rears. The Iranian pilots are totally outclassed by USAF, USN , RAF, and Israeli pilots.
A small blessing.
A BIG THANK YOU for your service! Let’s hope that their pilots are no better today!
I never served, although I was old enough, I didn’t enlist, but I wouldn’t have run off to Canada, either. I would’ve gone if drafted. As it was, they stopped the draft just before I turned 18.
My Dad was Army, 1st Cavalry Division in the Philippines during WWII
One my uncles was at Iwo Jima, he lived thru it. Another uncle was wounded at Guadalcanal, recovered and fought at Bougainville. He lived to be 101.
I can’t imagine what it’s like for the Israelis, having to live like that day after day.
BUT, with all the illegals Biden has let into this country, we are certainly less safe than we used to be.
