Other than the fact that he’s a minor kid and it’s criminal to post his nudes, criminal to extort people, and criminal to post revenge porn - why would anyone care these days if some nude selfies went on the internet?
It’s terrible, the boy is young and probably doesn’t have the perspective to understand this kind of thing would pass fairly quickly. His photos wouldn’t get wide circulation, they would be taken down by all the major social media platforms and hosts almost immediately. Any of his friends who kept the photos or shared the photos would be looking at a felony charge and a lifetime on a sex offenders registry. Yeah maybe he’d be the source of humor for a few weeks at school, and maybe he’d get a new nickname. But he would also probably get a lot of chicks (or dudes if he’s into that) - the curious, the sympathetic, etc. He might have even turned into a cause celebre heck Hilton and Kardashian basically published their own sex tapes to fatten their bank accounts. He didn’t have to embrace it that way, but could’ve done some good from the notoriety. He could have flipped it from shame to empowerment if he wanted to. Or he could’ve just gone on to live a normal life. His life was worth so much more and I’m sad he didn’t know that, and didn’t have anyone in a supportive capacity in his life to help him through it. It might’ve been tough for a very short time but then life would’ve gotten better.
True. The concept of "shame" doesn't exist in society any longer. But it seemingly existed for this boy. I would like to know more about his family.
Some of these predators get their victims to do really degrading things or injure themselves. Maybe this boy was gay and didn’t want people to know. Maybe he was straight and thought he was talking with a girl and they told him every homi in Lagos was wanking off to him. It could be much worse than nudes.
Every victim should just say it’s an AI deep fake.
