I bought beautiful velvet hunter Green drapes there and they stayed beautiful for years.
Over time, the quality went down.
I haven’t been to a Jc Penny’s in about a decade.
Agreed. Could always get stuff for the home plus decent serviceable clothing at JCP. It was very reliable.
Sears was also very reliable especially for tools and appliances.
And both stores were honest and would exchange any unsatisfactory merchandise without argument.
I wish they’d stayed around pretty much the way they were. It’s especially sad when such old, venerable merchants go out.
