I took my wife and two young granddaughters to San Francisco last Friday. I entered town near Oracle Park just as Giant fans were heading into the stadium. They were well behaved and orderly. I drove along the Embarcadero to Fisherman’s Wharf, parked and ate lunch. We drove along the Marina District to Fort Point under the Golden Gate then accross the bridge and out of town.
What I saw was very clean, not one pile of human waste, no bums or drug addicts, no tents, no riff raff at all. The traffic was not bad at. It was a very fun and safe afternoon. I have no doubt that the rest of the city is the blue $hit hole we’ve been told it is but there is a little sliver of old San Francisco left to be enjoyed.
There is! Glad you had a wonderful time.
I travel to SF often to visit immediate family - and we ride bikes all over every corner of the city.
The degredation and mayhem seem to be contained around the Civic Center and the Nancy Pelosi federal building (where it belongs) and along Market Street. Unfortunately, the once -wonderful, upscale downtown shopping areas have been hit by smash and grab robberies and are mostly closed down now.
Other parts of the city are still nice - Golden Gate Park, the Embarcadero area, Fisherman’s Wharf, Crissy Field and more.
