1. EPL - NO play-offs , every game counts - no "PARTICIPATION" trophies A.K.A. play-offs.
2. Most EPL games - not all - have the intensity of a playoff - (March Madness) and many have 90 min of real effort / hustle at the PROP level where the player's salary on average is very high for some platers and not so for the majority.
Level of intensity is why the game is so interesting almost every weekend. 38 games/season - no play-offs - One winner
A Liverpool win today keeps them top of the table by two points. A loss puts them one behind and tied with MC. A tie puts Liverpool in a tie with Arsenal atop the table. Go Reds.
I have tickets for the exhibition match in Columbia SC between Liverpool and Man U on Aug 3.
MU knocked out Liverpool from the FA cup coming back twice after Liverpool leads.
--America's longest running (with implications as being America's most important) television show.
--NBC's "flagship" program. (HA!).
--On their most watched platform (broadcast) vs. any number of NBC owned cable/sports channels.
Today, in fact, most featured teams are mid-pack. This is not to denigrate the EPL, but rather NBC News. It does not bode well for them.
