I’ll go out on a limb - my mom was a Louisiana girl and Dem to the bone! Dad (native Texas saw the light and switched from Dem to Repub. Mom never did - it was in her blood.

So, odds are johnson has it in his blood.

My Aunt Peg...my surrogate mother after my Mom died when I was young...was born and raised in South Boston (aka:"Southie") in the 1920s.Back then Southie was an Irish slum,the Irish having been at the bottom of the barrel in Boston society.

She was Catholic to her bones...went to Mass every day until,at about 90,she couldn't do it anymore.

She was also a fierce democrat. I tried to tell her in her later years that democrats hated everything that Catholicism stood for...decency,reverence,etc. She wouldn't listen. When I asked her once why she remained a democrat she said "because they give me my Social Security".

There was just no reasoning with her.
