I used to see Tesla Model 3s and other EVs fairly regularly. Now I rarely see one. Maybe they were leased and they disappeared when the lease expired..

Could be. I remember the BMW Z3 leases. It was a very popular car then it sort of dried up after about 3 years. At the time the used leased cars were selling for about $17K.
