A lot of people don’t recognize the wisdom of Jordan Peterson when he suggests that people need to “clean up your room”. If you can’t keep your own room picked up, you have no business trying to do more complicated things, such as telling other people how to live their lives.
Places where people believe in personal responsibility stay clean. Places where people believe that anything that is wrong for them is “somebody else’s fault“ do not even pick up their own trash. The USA currently has entire groups of people who are raised to believe that anything they do not like is “someone else’s fault“
