“The U.S. Army recently announced that it is cutting thousands of positions. Authorized troop levels will now be an estimated 470,000 by fiscal year 2029, down 24,000 from its 494,000 soldiers.”
Take that Putin!!! We don’t need no troops because WE ARE AMERICA and thus WE ARE INVINCIBLE!

This is a precursor to a Draft. And let’s hope those Chinee aircraft and naval vessels circling Taiwan like wolves are there to provide humanitarian aid.

You claim they are calling up retirees?
And are there any major changes in the routine rules for calling back retired officers in this new document?

Correct. And Putin doesn’t have Satanist chaplains in the army, or sustainable green warships built without ‘sexist’ urinals.

Our military readiness hasn’t diminished. At least that’s what Freeper war-mongers would have you think. They can’t even get anyone to enlist in our Armed Services. Pretty pathetic that the government has to tap people who have already served their country to fight the wars they have planned. And after making it mandatory that every person serving had to get the clot shots. What a bunch of freaking ingrates.

This is a precursor to a Draft. No draft. But I guess we can recall retired soldiers. If it's in their contract...

Another sign we’ve moved from a High-Trust Society to a Low-Trust Society ... just sayin

Why don't you go and try to find the answer to your question yourself? If you want the answer bad enough, you would. Or are you too lazy to do that?

I was lucky enough to have had only two Commanders-In-Chief...Nixon and Ford...who both served honorably as Naval officers. I think I would have deserted rather than serve under BillyBob,Osama Obama or The Big Guy.

"According to researchers, low-trust societies are typically kinship-based;[1] outcomes of low-trust societies can include difficulty in forming and maintaining corporate structures.[2] Mechanisms and institutions that are corrupted, dysfunctional, or absent in low-trust societies include respect for private property rights, a trusted civil court system ..." In case you were wondering ...

Yes, starting in March 2024, the Army has now given itself the authority to fill vacancies through retiree recall, so get ready:
THE RETIREE RECALL PROGRAM CAN BE AN EFFECTIVE TOOL TO FILL PERSONNEL SHORTAGES OF AUTHORIZED REGULAR ARMY VACANCIES THAT ARE CONSIDERED KEY AND ESSENTIAL.

You guys are trying to sell the nonsense, not me.
The thread is trying to give the impression that retired officers being liable to call back is new and that we are already calling them back.

Retired officers have always been liable to call back, even enlisted are if their initial enlistment doesn’t cover their much tinier window of obligation.

No problem fighting a fifteen front forever war.
To: Right_Wing_Madman
I said officers, but retirees are liable to recall and it isn’t new.
After 9/11 retired green berets were being sought at the time, I was under the impression they were being asked to come back rather than ordered, but there are many slots that doctors, dentists, scientists, experts in older systems etc. that can be needed during various situations.
