Do you really think 40-year olds outperform 18-year olds on the battlefield? And do you think you're winning while facing a 10 to 1 artillery disadvantage? You're more disillusioned than I thought.

Casualties of the Russo-Ukrainian War

Hard to get the exact data. But the Russians are on the offensive so they are taking more casualties. Plus they treat their conscripts as cannon fodder. That's the Russian way.

So the ratio of casualties to death for Russia and Ukraine are 3:1 and 5:1.

The more men killed off, the more young unattached Ukrainian women and girls available for trafficking.

Japan had plenty of men, but they were in the wrong spot (on the Asian mainland). When Japan surrendered, they still had millions of troops occupying parts of Asia.

Germany faced the same dilemma late in WWI; they had over a million troops in Russia (which had already surrendered) but didn’t dare to bring them westward because they were radicalized after fraternizing with Russians. They were running out of food and ammo, but not men - just reliable men.
