Biden Admin Threw Billions At EV Charging Stations — But Only A Handful Have Been Built

The Biden administration’s well-funded push to build out a national network of electric vehicle (EV) chargers has so far resulted in only a handful of installations, according to The Washington Post.

The bipartisan infrastructure bill of 2021 allotted $7.5 billion to subsidize thousands of EV chargers to help the administration’s goal of having EVs constitute 50% of all new cars sold in 2030, but only seven stations in total have been built in four states to date, according to the Post. The slow rollout of the EV charger funding is unfolding as the Biden administration has recently issued stringent emissions standards for light-, medium- and heavy-duty vehicles that will result in significant increases of EV sales for all three classes of vehicle.

Two years after the infrastructure bill became law, it has so far been responsible for just 38 operational individual charging spots across the U.S., according to the Post. The open stations are located in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York and Hawaii, and construction of more stations is underway in four other states.

Who is actually building them? Who will operate them? Why didn’t they just underwrite loans to Tesla and ChargeAmerica and a few of the others who build these thing for a living?

Of course $7 billion had to go to the Blue Ribbon committee to determine the best location for these EV charging stations.

They must have had hundreds of meetings with stakeholders to collect attitudes from marginalized and victimized communities. They needed to keep in mind the latest CRT, DEI, and LGBTQIAA+ recommendations.

They certainly had to have several fact finding trips to places like Tahiti, the Swiss Alps, the French Riviera, etc. to see how those communities were locating their EV stations.

I'm surprised they were able to build 7 stations so quickly!

Now THOSE are the real problem. The Tesla ones around here are OK, but the 3rd party one all suck and are way overpriced.

Of course, I can’t recall having ever paid for a charge at a Tesla station, which my influence my evaluation of them. Again, around here they seem to work.

A very accurate summation.

The financial resources to prime the government bribery and corruption pumps always consumes at least 90-95% of the available funds.

I hope no one really thought that building charging stations was the desired outcome. That is an unnecessary expense in a graft program.

And the crackheads in my town discovered that each charger cord has a couple of bucks worth of copper in it!

So where’s the FBI?

Rhetorical question I know, but apparently they are quite busy investigating people praying at abortion clinics, who were within 20 miles of the Capitol on January 6, objecting to porn in schools, and people posting bad things about Brandon on Facebook. There are only so many hours in a day.

They probably had to built and operated by Woman Minority Owned and Operated companies.

Then built by Union employees.

No worries.
I’m sure that they got their cut. The Uniparty is pretty good at making sure everyone gets a piece of the action. Co-conspiracy insures loyalty.

Actually, I am not really joking when it comes to SELLING to the Federal Government.

During the second Gulf War and Afghanistan occupation the Federal Government bought a fair amount of Lumber and plywood.
The lumber had to have grade stamps from a US grading agency.
So, there were mills in Europe that paid to join the West Coast Lumber Inspection Bureau(WCLIB)out of Oregon.

Then there were two wholesale companies that sold almost all the containers of European lumber to the Fed gov. It all had to be shipped to Germany or Bahrain. So, lumber from eastern Europe. Especially, non EU countries at the time, had a freight and cost advantage.

The two wholesale companies were both Minority Woman Owned companies. One was a guy I knew who set up a company in his wife’s name. She was an Asian American. Born in OR.
The other company was out of Black Hills. Native American woman owned.

My garage charges mine just fine. Of the 26K miles we put on it last year, 16K were charged at home. Combine that with a 20kW solar array and 92kWh battery stack providing 83% of all the power we consumed last year in our all-electric home (including charging the EV). Basically, my retirement financial planning doesn’t have to worry about the Dims’ warmageddon cult pushing their stupid energy policies making energy prices go higher.
