They are going to continue to allow used car purchases. I guess old cars pollute less than new cars.

California has intense tailpipe emissions requirements.
I just bought a car from an uncle that lives in LA county. He can’t drive it because it can’t pass the smog test so it is a big paperweight. As cars get older they won’t be able to pass the smog tests. Logic would suggest that the driver buy a newer car that can pass but new cars won’t be available.
Wonder what that will do to used car prices.

in the meantime- all the poor folks that live in those states who can’t get out for one reason or another will have to suffer through the asinine policies until the state finally gets a bit of wisdom and declares that ‘they made a mistake’ and rescind the idiotic EV mandates
