“Companies are increasingly hiring kids right out of high school...”
Not just companies. The PA State Police academy dropped the college degree requirement for at least the current class of new recruits.
Blue collar kids make better cops. In the history of policing, college degrees are no advantage and are often a detriment.
The proof is that agencies that do require them almost never require a specific major. Get it in anything and that’s fine. Imagine walking up to an accounting firm with a degree in history or university studies and getting hired straight in.
They respond that it magically confers some sort of air about the person that makes them a more wholesome cop.
But at 3am you want the other kind of cop coming to save you.
Crazy stupid.
And Gen Z college graduates are less than worthless (they actually damage their workspaces with talk of entitlement and preferred pronouns).
The essay deliberately avoids a critical ethnic statistic.
When I graduated from high school, almost 90% of USA students were non-Hispanic whites.
In 2024, less than 50% of USA students are non-Hispanic white.
Young Black Americans and young Hispanic Americans overwhelmingly support the Political Left.
The remedy is for the Federal Government to be barred totally from giving any money or resources to any educational institution and to decommission every department or agency that has any bearing on education and to get completely out of the business of lending money or guaranteeing loans for education or any damned thing else.
College women will more and more trend toward taking Fedgov to be their wedded husband as so many single suburban women do now.
I know the picture is supposed to show Rowan Atkinson, as being funny, and he is, but by trade, he graduated with an electrical engineering background, so he is no dummy.
Tout cela est vrai!
Best news I’ve read in a while...
There will always be electricity. There will always be a need for Electrical Workers. Industrial electricians bring in pretty good money. AC&R, sometimes referred to as HVAC pays well but I would recommend getting into the industrial side of that concentration rather than finding yourself crawling up and attics or crawling under houses.
Had I to do it over again I would have become a plumber and worked to start my own business. Instead of getting college loans, I’d have borrowed money to get that first business start once I’d gotten enough journeyman experience and licenses.
College is where one learns STEM jobs. You can’t fake engineering or surgery.
One of my nephews dropped out of college after his freshman year, worked in a cell phone store for a while. Fast forward, at age 43 he is a software engineer working from home, married with four children. His salary is well into the six figures.
Not going to college means they’ll be smarter in the long run, probably stay the same gender they were at birth and actually contribute to society.
The student loan racket is the only thing saving them - and that is why they keep dribbling out bits and pieces of Biden’s forgiveness. I haven’t followed closely, but I believe that helps people who have been paying towards their loans for decades - but that is buried so young fools will still borrow.
Many young people (of both genders) realize they won’t get a job that allows them to repay the loans; one gender assumes the other will help them pay theirs...
On the bright side, they won't be reproducing.
I find this hard to believe.....
