Criminal behavior needs to be treated as criminal behavior, arrest, jail, convict squatters. Make them pay for the damages as well (but guess they are broke?). Owner should have right to evict them, at gun point, if needed to defend their property. Dead squatter cannot sue.
But when the DAs and judges in NY are corrupt scum, just like the squatters, nothing will be done.
