“How things went down *between* them...” might have been a better way of phrasing it. My apologies. Obviously, there’s bad blood. There was also bad blood between Bill Clinton and Al Gore on the way out the door in 2001. It happens between presidents and VPs.
As Dec ‘24 was an unprecedented situation, I think reasonable people could disagree over the question of whether Pence had the power as VP to halt the process. If Pence on principle honestly disagreed with Trump on that one issue, so be it. But it’s not fine for him to campaign for the re-election of Joe Biden who is destroying this country. If Pence doesn’t want to endorse Trump because they hate each other, fine, who cares. But to actively campaign for Biden’s re-election? That’s an entirely different level of perfidy. Pence would favor the destruction of the country due to a personal grudge? That’s ego and spite.
I put a quote from Pence from January 4, 2021 in post 27. Just another example of his two-facedness; he was acting exactly like he did have ability to put a stop to things then, did he not? instead of what he actually did. So when he claims he had no power but instead was instructed by the Constitution to act as a rubber stamp (no such things are mandated by the Constitution), I automatically believe the opposite.
Yes this is a new low for him. Off to the dustbin of history for you Mike.
Never underestimate the desire of us humans to be petty...can someone be *that* petty? They sure can. We’re all capable of it if we aren’t careful...and we can convince ourselves it is the moral and just thing.
